Mr. Carroll's favorite sport, gloves down...was Baseball! One of the ways we would like to honor his memory is organizing sponsored events at his favorite stadiums, and sponsoring teams in the neighborhood he grew up in. He spent many countless hours on the fields in Harlem coaching and managing over 100 players. The parents and children adored him! It was not unusual to be walking in the neighborhood and hear someone shout out "Hey Coach Rodney!" One day, while on vacation in Mexico, we were surprised to hear "Hey Coach!" Rodney was recognized everywhere he went as being a goodhearted person. He was known for his hearty hugs and big booming laugh.
He was known and admired for coaching the youth on Life -- on and off the field.
